Technology makes it Better and F1 gets a makeover

f1 As the new season starts, there will be many changes; from power units to fuel limit, and F1 will get a makeover. Here is the look at the main changes for 2014,

Power Unit, The old 2.4 litre V8 engines, with KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), which revved at upto 18000 rpm have been replaced by a power unit- a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine limited to 15000rpm with two ERS. Teams are allowed five power units – each with six elements per driver per season, compared to eight last year. A driver will have to start from the pit-lane if he uses more than five power units.

KERS/ERS, The new ERS – two electrical motor generator units that harvest kinetic and heat energy from brakes and single exhaust is automatic and delivers an extra 160bhp for upto 33.33 seconds a lap. ERS…
