Power Unit, The old 2.4 litre V8 engines, with KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), which revved at upto 18000 rpm have been replaced by a power unit- a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine limited to 15000rpm with two ERS. Teams are allowed five power units – each with six elements per driver per season, compared to eight last year. A driver will have to start from the pit-lane if he uses more than five power units.
